Antarctic research center begins construction

The Discovery Building, designed by Hugh Broughton Architects for the British Arctic Survey, is a research center in Antarctica. Construction began on January 30th, 2020. The building features pale blue metal panels to protect against UV rays and reflect the Antarctic sky. It includes a wind deflector to minimize snow accumulation and a control tower offering a 360-degree view.
