Scientists have found anomalous structures around the Earth’s core

The video discusses a study published in Science on June 12th, which analyzed 7000 seismograms from earthquakes of magnitude 6.5 or greater, occurring between 1990 and 2008. Using a machine learning algorithm called Sequencer, researchers searched for seismic wave echoes beneath the Pacific Ocean. They discovered an anomalous structure under the Marquesas Islands and found that a known structure beneath the Hawaiian Islands is larger than previously thought.
