Tropical Storm Beta Could Make Landfall In Texas Monday

Tropical Storm Beta is approaching Texas with storm surge warnings in effect. The storm, with winds at 45 mph, is not expected to become a hurricane due to dry air but remains a threat to coastal and inland areas. Tornado warnings are issued for Galveston, and heavy rainfall is expected in Houston. If Beta makes landfall, it will be the ninth named storm to do so in the continental US in 2024.
