Sharon Haney, a distinguished chemist, has an impressive educational background with degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and MIT. She began her career at Bell Labs and later achieved significant success at DuPont, where she conducted groundbreaking research in antimicrobial materials and green chemistry, earning her team the EPA Presidential Green Chemistry Award. Haney is also a dedicated advocate for STEM education, mentoring students through various programs. Her professional affiliations include the American Chemical Society and the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers, where she received notable awards. In retirement, she supports the visually impaired by creating science audiobooks.
