VOICED : Seeking a miracle on Pakistans Koran mountain

In Pakistan's Balochistan province, a shrine was established by two brothers in the 1980s to protect old or damaged copies of the Koran from desecration. The elder brother continues to send Koranic verses to be buried there. Traditionally, old Korans were burned, buried, or thrown into the sea. The Quran is sacred to Muslims, and improper disposal can lead to blasphemy accusations. Many believers visit the shrine to pray, and the site is becoming overcrowded. Plans for a recycling plant are considered to address space issues, but a religiously acceptable method is needed.
