VOICED : ELN y Colombia cierran ronda de negociación con liberaciones pero sin alto al fuego

The first negotiation round between the Colombian government and the ELN concluded with agreements to revisit the 2016 agenda and adapt it to the current context. Humanitarian actions in conflict zones and emergency aid for political prisoners were agreed upon. The ELN has released 20 individuals since August, but no ceasefire agreement was reached. President Petro expressed interest in a bilateral ceasefire for future discussions. The next meeting is scheduled for the first quarter in Mexico, with a proposal for US involvement still pending a response.
