VOICED : Brasil busca frenar avance de fiebre amarilla

Brazil is tackling a yellow fever outbreak that has resulted in at least 40 deaths over two months. The Ministry of Health has distributed over five million vaccines to affected states. There are enough vaccines for the current situation and additional production capacity if needed. Since December, Brazil has reported 438 suspected cases, with 70 confirmed. The outbreak is concentrated in Minas Gerais, a high-risk area due to yellow fever circulation among monkeys. People traveling outside risk areas do not need vaccination. The yellow fever vaccine is highly effective, with about 95% efficacy.
