In Guerrero, Mexico, a community compelled the release of a kidnapped neighbor by detaining the mother of the kidnappers' leader. The villagers formed a self-defense group, detaining 19 people suspected of ties to the kidnappers, Los Tequileros. This group is accused of previous kidnappings and connections to the Guerreros Unidos cartel, linked to the 2014 Ayotzinapa student disappearance.
