VOICED : Chile destruye su mayor cantidad de armas decomisadas

Chile has destroyed 14,000 firearms collected through judicial procedures and voluntary surrender programs. This marks the largest destruction of firearms since 1990, contributing to a 6.3% reduction in crimes involving firearms and a 9.3% overall crime reduction. The voluntary surrender program has seen significant growth in the past two years, supported by new legislation and efforts from the Ministry of Interior and Ganaderos de Chile. The recycled steel from the destroyed firearms will be used in the expansion of Santiago's International Airport.
