Nevada, a southwestern U.S. state, is known for its vast desert landscapes and the bustling city of Las Vegas, which is a hub for entertainment and gambling. The state is bordered by California, Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah. Much of Nevada is part of the Great Basin, characterized by high desert land and mountain ranges. The Sierra Nevada Mountains form a natural boundary with California. The Mojave Desert in the south is home to Las Vegas and relies on water from Lake Mead. Nevada also has a history of nuclear testing at Yucca Flat, which ended in 1992.
