I WONDER - Why Do Giraffes Have A Black Tongue?

Giraffe tongues are unique not only because of their length but also due to their black color. This adaptation helps protect them from sunburn as giraffes spend much of their day eating leaves in the sun. The darker pigments in their tongues provide necessary protection against sun damage.
