In ancient Greece, girls did not attend formal schools but were educated at home by tutors if their families were wealthy. They learned basic skills like reading and writing, along with practical skills such as spinning. Girls were not taught the same subjects or to the same level as boys. However, some women, like Sapfo, were highly educated and accomplished.
