'Murder Hornets' Spotted In The U.S. For The First Time

Asian giant hornets, also known as murder hornets, have been spotted in the Pacific Northwest, marking their first appearance in the United States. These hornets are known for killing bees and can be deadly to humans if stung multiple times. They are responsible for about 50 deaths annually in Japan. Scientists are unsure how they arrived in the US, but they have only been seen in Washington State. The Washington Department of Agriculture advises against trying to kill them and urges the public to report sightings.
