Audi To Cut Thousands Of German Workers

Audi, owned by Volkswagen, is shifting focus to electronic cars and plans to cut its German workforce by up to 9,500 by 2025 through turnover and early retirement programs. This move aims to save $6.6 billion by 2029. Audi assures its core workforce is secure for the next decade, as per an agreement with the General Works Council. The company also plans to create 2,000 expert jobs in electric mobility and digitalization. Competing with Tesla, Audi will release its second electric vehicle, the E Tron Sport, in European markets next spring.
