New York City, Once A Coronavirus Epicenter, Begins Reopening

New York City is reopening after a three-month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An estimated 400,000 people can return to work as nonessential businesses like retail stores reopen for curbside pickup. Manufacturing and construction are also resuming. NYC is the last area in the state to meet the metrics for phase one of reopening, a milestone celebrated by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The city has moved from being the US epicenter of the pandemic to flattening and bending the curve, overcoming one of the worst situations globally.
