Art Spiegelman's Maus - Volume 1 Plot Summary

Art Spiegelman visits his father, Vladek, to document his survival story during WWII. Vladek's journey begins with his early life and marriage to Anya Zilberberg. As the war progresses, Vladek is drafted into the Polish army, captured, and becomes a prisoner of war. After returning to Sosnovitz, he faces Nazi occupation and the loss of family members. Despite attempts to escape, Vladek and Anya are eventually captured and sent to Auschwitz, where they must survive separately.
