Official: U.S. Supply Of COVID-19 Drug Could Run Out Soon

The FDA-approved drug Remdesivir, which shortens COVID-19 recovery time, may soon be in short supply. The U.S. government is awaiting updates from Gilead Sciences on future deliveries. Remdesivir, initially used for Ebola, has shown effectiveness in reducing hospital stays for COVID-19 patients. Gilead aims to produce over 500,000 treatment courses by October and over 1 million by December, having already pledged enough for 120,000 patients.
