Despite the law's approval after extensive debates, a recent survey by Equipos Mori reveals that two-thirds of Uruguayans oppose the new legislation signed by President José Mujica. The survey, conducted in December, shows only 24% support, with 10% undecided. Disapproval was highest at 70% during parliamentary discussions in April, dropping to 59% by October. Younger people and those from higher socioeconomic backgrounds show more support for the regulation.
