In France, a new innovation in low-income housing involves buildings made of straw, wood, and tiles. These structures, found in the Vosges region, are eight stories high and consist of wooden crates filled with hay. Despite their unconventional materials, they are fire-resistant and efficient. The buildings are equipped with solar panels and heat pumps, making them cost-effective with minimal maintenance fees. This is the first attempt to construct such a tall building using these materials in France.
