Honoring Abe

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, is known for his humble beginnings, self-education, and rise to a prominent lawyer and lawmaker. He was a strong opponent of slavery, which led to his election as president and his leadership during the Civil War. Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation was a key factor in the North's victory. Tragically, he was assassinated shortly after the war ended. Today, Lincoln is celebrated for his contributions to freedom and equality, with his legacy honored through various memorials and his inclusion on Mount Rushmore.
