Latvia, Jelgava Palace

Mitava Palace, the largest Baroque palace in the Baltic, was designed by Bartolomeo Restrelli in the 18th century for the Dukes of Korland. Located on an island between the Lelupe River, it replaced a medieval castle. Critics find its design lacking compared to Restrelli's other works. The palace originally had a U-shaped layout, which was enclosed in 1937 by an additional building.
