The South Stain is the largest operational steam ferry, introduced in 1938, and has carried over 92 million passengers across Sydney Harbour. Built in Scotland, it sailed to Sydney under its own power. Although retired from regular service in 1974 due to fire damage, it was restored in the 1980s. Now, it serves as a floating restaurant in Sydney and is maintained in good working order, occasionally making short trips with the help of a tugboat.
