Georgia Bans Large Police Budget Cuts

Governor Brian Kemp signed a law preventing cities or counties from reducing law enforcement budgets by more than 5% over five years. This was a response to the defund the police movement. Opponents argue it gives state lawmakers excessive control over local budgets.
