The National Astronomy Institute has set criteria for a celestial body to be classified as a planet, which includes having sufficient gravitational mass to maintain a rounded shape and clearing its orbit of other objects. Due to these criteria, Pluto is no longer considered a planet, reducing the number of planets in our solar system to eight.
