VOICED : Oposicion cubana quiere presentarse a elecciones de 2017

The Cuban opposition announced plans to present candidates for the 2017 presidential elections despite the government's refusal to open the single-party system. They are working with citizens and have around 90 candidates. Their change program includes proposals for free elections, recognizing the Cuban diaspora, and supporting small businesses. The opposition sees a favorable political climate due to setbacks in similar regimes and the new US policy towards Cuba. In 2015, they managed to present two candidates in municipal elections, though they were defeated.
