GPS – Did you know?

GPS satellites are launched into orbit using rockets. They have a lifespan of about 10 years, which is increasing with technological advancements. When no longer useful, satellites are moved to a higher altitude disposal orbit to avoid collisions with new satellites. These old satellites can remain in disposal orbits for centuries.
