VOICED : Esterilizaciones forzadas carga de pasado fujimorista en Peru

Victoria Vigo was forcibly sterilized during a cesarean section, losing her child and the ability to have more. This was part of a larger state-sponsored program in Peru from 1996 to 2000, where approximately 300,000 people were sterilized without consent. The program, led by President Alberto Fujimori, was presented as a reproductive health initiative but targeted poor women to reduce birth rates. Fujimori is already serving a prison sentence for other crimes, and the victims of the sterilization program are seeking justice.
