Pope Francis Names New Archbishop Of Philadelphia

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will soon have a new leader as Pope Francis appoints Nelson Perez as the next Metropolitan Archbishop. Perez, currently the Bishop of Cleveland, has strong ties to Philadelphia, having spent much of his early career there. He will succeed Archbishop Charles Chaput, known for his conservative views, who is retiring. Perez, an advocate for immigrants, has criticized Trump's policies and will assume his new role on February 18th, becoming the first Hispanic Archbishop in the region.
