VOICED : Bolivianos piden deseos al dios Ekeko

The Alacita festival in Bolivia is a month-long event where people buy miniatures of desired items, hoping the Andean god of wealth, Ekeko, will grant them. The festival, meaning 'buy me' in Aymara, takes place in La Paz and other cities. Artisans sell various miniatures, from money to vehicles and food. Bolivians pay tribute to Ekeko, a chubby, dwarf idol, in hopes of being rewarded.
