VOICED : Merkel descarta levantar sanciones a Rusia

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has ruled out easing economic sanctions on Russia until there is progress in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine. She emphasized the need for the full implementation of the Minsk agreement before any sanctions can be lifted. This statement comes during a crucial week of talks in Kazakhstan involving Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Merkel, and French President François Hollande. The Minsk agreements require both parties to respect a ceasefire and withdraw illegal armed groups and military equipment from eastern Ukraine. Since the conflict began in April, it has resulted in over 4,700 deaths.
