Scientists find microplastic particles in rainwater collected from the Rocky Mountains

The geological survey conducted in Rocky Mountain National Park found microscopic plastic fibers in rainwater. Researchers collected samples from various altitudes using buckets lined with plastic bags. The samples were analyzed with a binocular microscope fitted with a digital camera. The study revealed that over 90% of the rainwater samples contained plastic, primarily fibers in colors like red, silver, purple, green, and yellow, along with beads and shards.
