New York Teacher Under Fire For Slavery Lesson With Cotton, Handcuffs

In a 7th grade social studies class, a teacher had black students pick seeds from cotton and wear handcuffs during lessons on slavery, while allegedly allowing white students to opt out. This led to parental outrage and calls for the teacher's dismissal and license revocation. The teacher is currently on leave as an investigation is underway.
