Joseph Blatter has announced his intention to seek a fifth term as FIFA president, despite facing corruption allegations related to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. European football players have called for his resignation after his current term ends in May next year. Blatter stated that the decision lies with the Congress members, but he is prepared to continue leading. Jérôme Champagne is the only other official candidate, with the election scheduled for May 29, 2015, in Switzerland.
