VOICED : Colombia restituye tierras a desplazados

The Colombian government has returned land to 31 displaced families in Putumayo, a region heavily affected by conflict. The area, including the town of El Placer, has a history of violence, notably a paramilitary massacre in 1999. Over 150,000 people were displaced in Putumayo, but recent justice rulings have restored land to many families. In La Hormiga, hostilities have ceased following a unilateral ceasefire by FARC, while peace talks continue in Havana to resolve a conflict that has resulted in 220,000 deaths and six million displaced individuals.
