Gangs like these operate in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, controlling marginalized neighborhoods and engaging in violent territorial disputes. Guatemala faces a severe violence crisis, with around 6,000 deaths annually, largely due to gang activities such as contract killings, extortion, and drug trafficking.
