VOICED : Venezuela anuncia complejo proceso para reinscribir partidos

In Venezuela, most political parties must reinscribe with the electoral authority, a task deemed impossible by experts for some. 59 parties either did not participate in recent elections or failed to secure 1% of votes. To renew registration, they must collect signatures from 0.5% of the electoral roll in 12 states within two days, with a deadline of April 23. The ruling PSUV and the opposition MUD are exempt, but many smaller coalition parties are not. The postponed governor elections, originally set for December, remain unscheduled, presenting a challenge for President Nicolás Maduro.
