VOICED : Justicia de Ecuador suspende sesion sobre si juzga o no a Correa

An Ecuadorian court suspended a hearing to decide if former President Rafael Correa should be tried for the kidnapping of opposition ex-deputy Fernando Valda in Colombia. Correa, residing in Belgium, cannot be tried in absentia. The court must decide whether to proceed with the trial or dismiss the case, which could result in a nine-year prison sentence for Correa. The hearing, attended by international observers, was postponed until Friday. The prosecution refrained from charging two of the six suspects in the 2012 kidnapping. Correa denies the allegations, claiming they are politically motivated by the current Ecuadorian government.
