José Salvador Alvarenga, a fisherman who survived 13 months in the Pacific Ocean, returned to El Salvador. His journey began in December 2012 when he went shark fishing off the Mexican coast and was found over a year later in the Marshall Islands. Upon his return, he was taken to a hospital in Santa Tecla. The community of Garita Palmera prepared a festive welcome, celebrating his survival story, which has become an inspiration for many, especially other fishermen. His resilience is seen as a model for enduring hardships.
