Fiona Mutesi, a young chess prodigy from Uganda, rose to prominence by representing her country in the Chess Olympiad in Turkey at the age of 16. Her journey began at 9, driven by necessity in a poor Kampala neighborhood where chess provided a meal. Despite a challenging childhood, including homelessness, Fiona's story inspired Disney. Her coach believes her tough life honed her aggressive and brilliant chess style. Chess mirrors life's challenges, and while her family builds a home, Fiona dreams of studying medicine.
