Claude Monet was deeply inspired by water lilies, creating landscapes at his home to fuel his artistic passion. He painted a series of water lily artworks, similar to his haystacks, first shown in 1900. Despite losing his eyesight in 1912, Monet was encouraged by his friend, the French Prime Minister, to paint on a larger scale. After World War I, Monet donated his paintings to France as a peace symbol, leading to the creation of the Rosary Museum. Monet passed away in 1926, having painted over 250 water lily pieces, which are celebrated for their beauty.
