The Argentine justice system exonerated Vice President Cristina Kirchner from accusations of covering up the AMIA bombing suspects. The case involved a memorandum with Iran, which was never ratified by Iran's legislature. The court ruled the memorandum was not a crime. Kirchner claimed the charges were politically motivated by her successor, Mauricio Macri. The case was initiated by the late prosecutor Alberto Nisman, whose death remains controversial. All accused, including the late foreign minister Héctor Timerman, were cleared. Kirchner still faces six other legal cases.
