VOICED : La ONU envia una mision a Ecuador para investigar violencia en manifestaciones

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will send a mission to Ecuador to investigate violence during recent protests. This decision follows a request from the Ecuadorian government. There are reports of human rights violations by state forces and crimes by third parties. The protests, sparked by the removal of fuel subsidies, resulted in eight deaths and over 1,300 injuries. Concerns have also been raised about detentions of political figures related to the protests. The UN team, consisting of three members, will stay in Ecuador until November 8, aiming to meet with government officials, indigenous leaders, civil society representatives, journalists, and other stakeholders.
