Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, has expressed concerns about the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, which is expected to become dominant in Europe by mid-January. To combat this, many countries are administering booster shots, and the European Medicines Agency has approved the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as a booster for adults over 18.
