CLEAN : French Church to sell assets or borrow to compensate victims of child abuse

The French bishops have decided to contribute to a fund by selling real estate assets from the Conference of Bishops or dioceses. They will not use church donations meant for evangelization or other missions but will utilize available security reserves. All bishops agreed to identify assets they can sell and may consider taking a loan if necessary to meet obligations.
