Austria To Enforce Strict Lockdown After New COVID-19 Cases Record

Countries are adopting extreme measures to control COVID-19. Austria implemented a partial lockdown in November, allowing schools and restaurants to stay open but imposing a nighttime curfew and closing museums. A stricter lockdown will follow, closing schools and limiting movement to essential activities. Chancellor Kurz warned of rising cases, with Austria recording nearly 9600 new cases in a day. The country has over 200,000 cases and 1800 deaths.
