Andreas Vesalius, a pioneering physician of the 16th century, challenged the prevailing anatomical teachings of Galen. His work was part of the broader Scientific Revolution, which extended beyond cosmic studies to human anatomy. Vesalius identified numerous errors in Galen's work and published 'The Fabrica', a groundbreaking and accurate anatomy book. Despite its significance, the book led to Vesalius facing opposition from medical teachers and the church, ultimately costing him his position at the University of Padua. Nevertheless, 'The Fabrica' remained influential, inspiring future generations of medical students.
