Brazil has become the leading Latin American country in hosting Syrian refugees, with over 2,000 arrivals since the Syrian civil war began in 2011. Despite Brazil's economic challenges, refugees appreciate the country's hospitality and access to public services. The Brazilian government does not provide financial aid, but refugees can work and access public health and education systems. Visa applications for Syrians have not been rejected, and the community continues to grow, making Syrians the largest refugee group in Brazil.
