The Prague Zoo introduced two Malayan tiger cubs, a male and a female, with a good chance of survival. Malayan tigers are rare in European zoos, with only 17 adults currently. Breeding is challenging due to male aggression, and it took nearly a decade to find a compatible pair. The mother, Vania, previously lost her cubs. Habitat destruction and demand for tiger parts in traditional medicine have reduced tiger numbers globally, with only about 3,000 tigers left, including a few hundred adult Malayans.
