VOICED : Enviado del Vaticano se reune en Chile con victimas de abusos

Victims of sexual abuse by Marist religious members in Chile met with Archbishop Charles Chicluna, sent by Pope Francis, to discuss cover-ups involving Bishop Juan Barros. The victims, along with their families, emphasized the importance of Chicluna understanding the full impact of the abuses. The Pope ordered Chicluna's visit to hear from victims of Fernando Caradima, who was sentenced to a life of prayer and penance by the Vatican in 2011. The victims are requesting a special Vatican commission to investigate and sanction the actions of Marist religious members or ensure that the investigation led by Father David Albornoz is not hindered by the Marist brothers. Recently, numerous victims from two Marist schools in Chile have reported abuses by religious members.
