VOICED : Atacama el desierto mas arido del mundo bebe agua de niebla

The Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, presents a challenge for water collection. Scientists use fog nets made of polypropylene to capture water droplets from coastal fog. The process involves fog passing through the nets, where water droplets condense and are collected in channels and stored in tanks. These nets can collect an average of 7 liters of water per square meter daily, with variations depending on the season. Currently, around 40 such networks operate in Atacama, supplying water to research stations and communities. The technology is also used in Coquimbo and exported globally. Future goals include improving predictability and expanding to more communities.
